Exchange 2007 seems like an external member of our organization getting emails yahoo acct
I have a confirmation that an old employee of ours is accessing confidential mails. to which he is not an assigned recipient.
is there a way to search in exchange 2007 server to see if that particular yahoo acct is listed somewhere under some mailbox, to get mails forwarded to his yahoo acct.
I looked up under properties of the mailbox member, but could'nt see nothing.
I have string evidence this user has access to info.
Is there a way to do an advance search on exchange admin 2007 server area, by email address
xxxx@yahoo.com
Thank you very much for the helpful info.

Hi,
1.)
Search for a contact object in AD, if any mailboxes are configured to forward externally it will point to that contact. Best thing to do
is keep the contact object but change the SMTP address to a mailbox so you can see what type of email’s were getting delivered to that person externally that shouldn’t have been.
Get-Contact –Identity
baduser@yahoo.com

2.)
If someone has configured an Outlook rule and is sending to
baduser@yahoo.com, then go ahead and create a new remote domain
for yahoo.com, that way you do not have to modify the * Default remote domain settings. The only thing I would change between the * Default and the new domain is Set-RemoteDomain –Identity “yahoo.com” – AutoForwardEnabled $false, this
way Outlook rules will no longer work for that particular domain.

Hope this helps or points you in the right direction.
