Exchange 2007 pre-install upgrade from Exchange 2003
This is probably a pretty easy question to answer but I haven't found an answer out there yet.I have just begun the upgrade and have not installed Exchange 07 yet.My question is if I run setup /preparelegacyexchangepermissions and the /preparead (during business hours) will this cause problems with my current Exchange 03 environment? Meaning is there a possibility of mail not being delivered, users not being able to connect, or any other affects.?Also our current Exchange 03 install has the AD connector, the Best Practice Analyzer says that that must be uninstalled. WIll removing that cause any problems or what can I expect if I do that?ThanksScott

You are OK to remove your AD connector as long as you aren't using it (ldo you still have 5.5 servers?). Extending the schema is something that can be done during business hours, but i tend to prefer not too. I've not run into any issues with either of the setup switches you've posted, but that doesn't mean no issues exist.

We do not have any Exchange 5.5 servers anymore, we are running in native mode. The AD connector can be removed at any time as well correct?
