Exchange 2007 perms
is it possible to grant access to only one db on a server, instead of all x dbs when you add the person to Exch server admins group.

While it may be possible but it probably won't do what you want. Perhaps you ought to rephrase your question so that it describes the problem you are trying to solve rather than a potential solution to be evaluated.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

main servers hosts emails for multiple locations. We want to ensure that local admin for each location has access to only their database on a server and not to other databases.

You're looking for what is essentially multi-tenant support, then? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff923272.aspx Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Well, we are not hosted environment. We are one Exch org with distributed administrative model. Also, we are Exchange 2007. Exchange 2010 RBAC will probably take care of it, but we still on 2007 and will be for a while.

Hi babymanzero, Per my known, there is no directly way to achieve the target. And for exchange 2010 it is easy to achieve: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff872148.aspx Maybe we could edit the permission on the special database for the users through the ADSI and achieve it. But it seems not supported, you could make some tests. Regards!
