Exchange 2007 on Server 2008 Fails on Hub Transport Role
I have setup a 2008 Server, Its a single DC. Just want to try the 2 products out together for testing before moving into production. However I cant get exchange 2007 installed. I Have setup the server and DNS is all working I then do the following ServerManagerCmd -i RSAT-ADDS Then Reboot ServerManagerCmd -i PowerShellServerManagerCmd -i Web-ServerServerManagerCmd -i Web-ISAPI-ExtServerManagerCmd -i Web-MetabaseServerManagerCmd -i Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-ConsoleServerManagerCmd -i Web-Basic-AuthServerManagerCmd -i Web-Digest-AuthServerManagerCmd -i Web-Windows-AuthServerManagerCmd -i Web-Dyn-Compression However when it installs it fails on Hub Transport Role. That is the error I get. In the event logs I also get the error below :- Hub Transport RoleFailed Error:Service 'MSExchangeTransport' failed to reach status 'Running' on this server. Elapsed Time: 00:23:24 Client Access RoleCancelled Mailbox RoleCancelled EVENT 7031The Microsoft Exchange Transport service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service app 2114 Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGYSERVICE.EXE (PID=2616). Topology discovery failed, error 0x80040a02 (DSC_E_NO_SUITABLE_CDC). Look up the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) error code specified in the event description. To do this, use Microsoft Knowledge Base article 218185, "Microsoft LDAP Error Codes." Use the information in that article to learn more about the cause and resolution to this error. Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test network connectivity to local domain controllers. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is? I have looked everywhere and cannot see any solution. The exchange setup logs do not exist either. Thanks in advance Dale

Hi Dale, To sove this issue, it was necessary for me to only re-activate IPv6 in the network configuration that I had deactivated duringthe installation of the AD role. After that the installation was fine. It haven't stop Microsoft Firewall. BR. Herv
