Exchange 2007 not sending emails
Hi Guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am stuck in a very strange kind og problem. I have just upgraded our sbs 2003 to sbs 2008 premium. Its a complete neew installation and not migration. Every thing seems working fine apart from one issue and that is exchange server. Its a very strange kind of problem users can send external emails but not on all the emails address. They can send to hotmail , google etc but not to all other domins. Moreover on some occasions they do get ND Report saying something like: "Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists: 'xyz@eer.co.uk' (example) An error occurred while trying to deliver this message to the recipient's e-mail address. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please try resending this message, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator. The following organization rejected your message: Requested. _____ Sent by Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 I am getting this kind of error on all most all the users on domin for one or the other emails address. Most of out clients said that they have not even recived the emaisl send to them since yesterday and for thoes emails we even dont rget NDR I have try to delete .NK2 file abd use non cahed mode but nothing for me. Please guys need your help here. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks Vikram

test your email server may be your server ip is blacklisted due to spamming etc. try www.mxtools.com.

Hi, If your sending server external ip doesn't match you MX record and A record for the MX server. Then expect bounces like that. The name, forward and reverse DNS must match. Currently, you look spammy to remote servers. I hope if you will make your A records and MX records properly than every thing will be ok. Regards. Was everything working correctly on the old system? Have you used the same DNS records and external IP address? If so, then you probably just need to change the FQDN value on the Send Connector to match the host name for your MX record. However, if you are using the POP3 connector, or are on a dynamic IP address then you should probably be using a smart host, which will be your ISPs SMTP server. Run the wizard to configure a smart host in the SBS Management Console, which will setup the server to use one. If you have already configured it to use a smart host, you might have to use authentication. Otherwise, are the NDRs 100% identical, because what you have posted seems incomplete. Hi Vik Sokhi , I M still on my way that you have some problem with your MX or A records and you can configure them on your DNS level where you have set them before also mind it that I M talking about your external DNS not internal DNS maybe you are making entries on your ISPs DNS so kindly ask them to confirm you that they got your new IPs with MX and A records or not ? Hi Does the old and the new server goes out on internet with the same ip address? You can check that by going to this site http://www.whatsmyip.org/ Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Hi, NO the old and the new server does not go out on internet with same IP address both have different IP address. But new server is behind firewall. thanks Vik

If you are going out on a different IP address then you will have to treat this as if you are setting up a new ISP etc. That means ensuring that you have a valid host name pointing to the relevant IP address and asking the ISP to configure a matching PTR, aka reverse DNS record. If the firewall is doing SMTP scanning then that should be disabled as it can cause problems with email delivery. I haven't seen a firewall provider get SMTP scanning correct yet. While you wait for that to happen, you will need to adjust your Send Connector to route email via your ISPs SMTP server, as a smart host. Hi , I M totally agree with Mr. Simon as I stated before that this seems to be you DNS entries error also you can use smart host for a while its also a great idea from Mr. Siman. Regards.
