Exchange 2007 new mailboxes created in EMC are not populating in EMS
Recently, one of my clients is having issues with an Exchange 2007 box I installed about a year ago. All has been well until we noticed that the SA service wasn't automatically starting upon reboot. I investigated the NIC team settings, changed the service dependencies per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940845. The server was rebooted yesterday and now a very strange issue is occurring. If I create a new user in EMC, the user cannot log in their mailbox via Outlook or OWA. The user is populating in AD correctly and there are no errors in the event logs. I continued my troubleshooting by attempting to pull the mailbox up in EMS but any new mailbox is not populating in this list. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Kevin

Can you please try to run this command Get-MailboxStatistics -Database Mailbox Database | Sort -Property TotalItemsize | Format-Table DisplayName, LastLoggedOnUserAccount, ItemCount, @{expression={$_.totalitemsize.value.ToMB()};label=Size(MB)}, LastLogonTime, LastLogoffTimeHarpreet Singh Khandiyal (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375)

I would suggest you to check for the newly created Mailbox Get-Mailbox -identity "alias of the mailbox" | fl also check for any events on applog. It would be a good idea to run EXBPA on server to check of server is up to mark in terms all configurations. Under Server Configuration ->Select MAilbox ->On the right hand side select the server and right click and click on properties and select system settings make sure the DC and GC are correctly pointing to the local site Exchange Update Rollup 9 is out. Probaby you can schedule the same http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=55320be2-c65c-48bb-bab8-6335aa7d008c&displaylang=en Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Thanks guys. I did all the above steps, ending with the new rollup. I rebooted the server afterwards and the issue remained. I could not find anything in the event logs on the Exchange box. It was then brought to my attention that this new user could not even log in the domain this morning so I shifted focus to the main DC. I found a ton of replication warnings, errors regarding Windows Search, many updates recently installed but hasnt been rebooted and was told that a recent registry scan/repair utility was ran a few weeks ago. I uninstalled Windows Search and rebooted the DC. It took a very long time for it to come back up but afterwards, all was restored back to normal. So the issue was on the DC. Something was fishy with AD and the GAL maybe due to the registry scanner and/or Windows updates. Thanks again. Kevin
