Exchange 2007 management console on a server with Exchange 2003 : is it possible?
Hey guys, It may sound bad, but here's my problem. Right now, I have a server with Windows Server 2003 SBS and Exchange Server 2003. We are migrating on another server with Exchange 2007. My problem is here : I Need to backup Mailboxes of my new Exchange and we are using Backup Exec 2010. To proceed, We need to install Exchange Management Console on the server where stay Backup Exec and guess what? It is my SBS 2003 with Exchange 2003. When I try to install it, it stopped and don't install it. So here's my question : Is there a way to make it work? Best regards,

What happened when you tried to install it? Exactly what error messages did you get?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Why not just use Windows Backup on the new Exchange 2007 server until migration is complete? You could backup to Network Share on the SBS 2003 Box so its included on your backup media. You can then install Backup Exec 2010 on the new Exchange 2007 Server when completed.MVP Exchange Server
