Exchange 2007 mailbox mount on another Exchange 2007.
Hi Guys,
I have Exchange01(200+ mailboxes) on production environment and Exchange02 on the same network but don't have any mailbox on it.
Now i m planning a disaster recovery plan and assumed if something gonna wrong with "Exchange01" and i have .edb backup with me for this server.
then i can mount this .edb database to on Exchange02 but when i tried to do so in testing lab. i was failed and the error was see below:-
Microsoft Exchange Error
--------------------------------------------------------
Failed to mount database 'Mailbox Database'.
Mailbox Database

Error:
Exchange is unable to mount the database that you specified.
Specified database: EXCHANGE02\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database;
.
Error code: MapiExceptionCallFailed: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=1011)
--------------------------------------------------------
OK

As you know that Microsoft claimed Database Portability features in Exchange 2007 then i think it must be happened in another way.
Please help me out here !
Thanks

Hello,
You might want to try checking the "This database can be overwritten by a restore" option before acctually trying to mount it.
Let me know if that helped.
Thanks,

Thanks for Views,
But i did it my own, I have checked Database shutdown status and found it was in Dirty Shutdown state. I have converted it in Clean shutdown and mount on another server.
Now after playing a little poweshell game with logs i m able to mount it on next server.
Now everything seems fine.
Thanks to microsoft for this feature and Thanks to all of you for your Views.
Thanks
