Exchange 2007 logs not flushed during backup
Hi Guys,We are running Exchange 2007 on server 2003 R2 standard x64 edition.Quite a new server within the infrastructure and came to the conclusion over the weekend that the Volume Exchange is running on was running out of space. main reason for this was an abundance of log files and someone decided it a good idea to setup local replication on the same volume. This has now been changed and we are running ok for now. However, the main issue is that our backups are not flushing the logs. As third party backup software we have been using Attix 5. We thought there might be some configuration issue within the software, but their developers have said the configuration is ok. having read multiple forums, I decided to run the NT Backup, which everyone agreed on, should flush the logs. Not the case with us.Do any of you guys have any idea why the logs would not be flushed using NT Backup? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Some info that might help. There are rumours that it might have something to do with Local Continuous Replication being enabled. Can anyone from here tell me if there is any truth in this? Could there be an issue with the local Continuous Backup state being: unseeded? Many thanks in advance!

Hi, First, please make sure you backup Exchange information store, not the mailbox folder or the edb file. Second, if not all stores under one storage group are mounted, the log will not be truncated. If the issue persists, please open NTBACKUP and reproduce this issue, then paste the backup log here for our further discussion. The Backupxx.log files in the folder ''C:\Documents and Settings\administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\WindowsNT\NTBackup\data''. Please also let me know your environment. Have you deployed LCR or CCR? Thank you, Elvis
