Exchange 2007 installation - offline address book definition is missing
Hi, I'm new to Exchange and Active Directory. I just installed both on the same Windows 2003 Server R2 machine (domain controller). The installation process went fine. But after I run the Best Parctices Analyzer (scan Health Check), I got "Offline address book definition is missing" error. As a result of the error, I could not create outlook profiles in Outlook 2007 for the users I just created in the Active Directory. I know the problem lies in the Offline Address Book, but I couldn't find the answer after I searched extensively online. Need help from someone with experience on this. thanks very much. JF

JF, I assume Exchange 2007 is what you installed. In the Organization Configuration-Mailbox-Offline Address Book, what is configured? Also, in Server Configuration-Client Access-Offline Address Book Distribution, what is configured? Rob

Hi, Rob,Thanks for the reply.I did have Exchange 2007 Server installed.in the Organization Configuration -> Mailbox -> Offline Address Book, I have "Defalult Offline Address Book".in the Server Configuration -> Client Access -> Offline Address Book Distribution, I have "OAB(Default Web Site)" shown there. Those configuration are there once my exchange server is installed, I did not configure either of them myself.Thanks.JF

How exactly do you "select the default offline address book."I am looking at the "Client Settings" tab now. It has two gray windows Default public folder database with a browse button next to it, andOffline address book, also with a Browse button next to it.

I got the same thing. I'm surprised that the installer didn't configure this by default.
