Exchange 2007 install
Hi i have recently taken on a new domain in a new job. The old SA must have had a exchange server 2000 and removed the server without demoting it properly. I came to install exchange 2007 today and it is picking information out of Active Directory that must be still in there. The error message i get when i run the setup test is : The exchange organization is not in native mode. How do i change the mode if the exchange server is none existant? Please Help

Hi, I suggest you clear out the old Exchange org by using Active Directory Sites and Services. Open ADSS and highlight the top object then use the view menu to show the services node. Then drill down into the services node and delete the Microsoft Exchange object. You will then have removed all the Exchange 2000 configuration settings. When you go to install Exchange 2007 it shouldn't detect the old org. Cheers Nathan

Does Exchange 2007 come with any sort of SQL version?

Hi, Simple answer; no. There was a very early Alpha build of Exchange 2007 which stored data on an SQL type database, but it wasn't followed through for verious reasons. So Exchange 2007 still uses the traditional ESE database. Cheers Nathan
