Exchange 2007 generating hundreds of transaction logs
Ok, so I'm no stranger to how and what causes transactions to get loged in Exchange, and I do now about the size changes in 2007. But what I cant figure is why in a test/lab environment with only 3 mailboxes, and no e-mail sent or received in 8 days doI see 100's of transaction logs files? Backup was done and succfessfully removed tlogs on Nov 21st. Since then, there has been NO Exchange Activity from the 3 test users. Why do I have 490 tlogs? This is Exchange 2007 and it's SCC. I have been trying to get Backup Exec 11d to work with it for a week now (thats another very frusterating story that i'll be sure to be taking up with Symantec)soI have been updating agents and what not causing me to move the cluster and restart each node. Would this generate transactions? There are no 3rd party apps installed for compliance, storage managment and the like. Exchange 2007 is the only thing running on these nodes. Is anyone else seeing this and questioning it or does 490 tlogs generatedwith not one e-mail sent sound normal? thanks

490mb of Logs with 8days of inactivity is definitly not normal behaviour. Are you sure you haven't got any public folders replicating to that box or any mail relay going on?

There is one one Exchange Server (virual - Cluster) so there is no replication going on with Public folders. Wondering if there is any Native tools in Exchange that will allow me to see what these logs contain. thanks for your response
