Exchange 2007 contacts issue

We have quite a few Exchange contacts configured on our Exchange 2007 server.
When you check a contact in Exchange, they are all listed with their respective external email addresses. But when you email something to these contacts, the email goes to <alias>@ourdomain.com and we get NDR.
Anyone knows what the problem might be?

In Exchange Management connsole you can open the contact and select the E-Mail Addresses Tab. There you will see how the Primary SMTP address is the one you receive the NDR for. You need to use the "Set as External" and "Set as Reply" on the external
 address.
This works this way so someone can send Email to a contact in your Org and your Exchange will route back to the contacts email system.

Good luck
