Exchange 2007 configuration: service connection point AD information was not automatically created
I have two separate Exchange 2007 installations. The first one I did in a vm environment to practice the installation process. When I did this installation, service connection point information was properly generated for Exchange within AD.However, when I did my second installation as part of an existing AD forest, I cannot find any service connection point information within AD for this second installation. Can I just rerun the installer to generate this AD information? Any insight into what may have gone wrong with the second installation process? The information I am looking for maps to... "A service connection point (SCP) object is created in Active Directory during the installation of the Client Access (CAS) role. Domain-joined clients will query this object and read the following attributes: serviceBindingInformation - Returns the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the CAS server. This will match the public URL that you have chosen in the IAWM. The Autodiscover virtual directorys internal URL setting must match this value and the SBS server must be able to query the zone for the public domain in its DNS to return the internal IP address of the server. keywords Returns the Active Directory site which the CAS server belongs to. Exists specifically for when you have multiple CAS servers in different AD sites. To find its location in ADSIEDIT, go here: CN=Servername,CN=Autodiscover,CN=Protocols,CN=Servername,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=OrganizationName,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=CONTOSO,DC=local"...

Hi, Please try to run get-clientaccessserver |fl to see if the second CAS list there. Also please check if autodiscover virtual directory has been installed in the IIS manager. Please use ADSIedit and follow the directory listing below, find server name under Autodiscover and then right click to properties, there please try to find serviceBindingInformation. CN=Autodiscover,CN=Protocols,CN=<CASServer>,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services If you cannot find it, then please try to re-install CAS role. Note: Please ensure that CAS server can connect to DC. You can run ExBPA before you uninstall the CAS role.
