Exchange 2007 cannot mount database
We have just installed a new Exchange 2007 server into our existing 2003/2007 environment. We have two Ex 2007 servers that are working ok. We cannot mount the database and we are getting these errors in the application log. Issue description: Database cant be mounted 0x80070005: It translates ecAccessDenied or ecPropSecurityViolation, which implies that we are not able to mount the store due lack of some permissions Check info: 1. Please describe more about the exchange topology, server roles 2. Does the problematic database stay on newly installed exchange 2007 server? 3. Whether the problematic database is a newly created database or existing database? 4. Whether the problematic database is a mailbox database or public database? 5. Have the problematic database worked before? When does the issue start, after the new exchange 2007 had been installed? Troubleshooting: 1. Please make sure that Everyone doesn't have any Deny permission on the database via ADSI Editor. Please also verified the permissions on AG level, server object level and database level 2. Please run ExBPA on the problematic server for a health and permission check. The issue may cause by permission inheritance 3. Please run setup /preparedomain to ensure that all needed permissions are in place, which does not do any changes to custom permissions added. It only checks if there are any default permissions missing and if there are , they get fixed 4. Please try to add/modify the permissions of Exchange server machine account on the problematic database to Full Control, and see if database can be mounted Resources: Description of the Parameters Used With the Exchange 2007 Setup.com Tool
