Exchange 2007 asking for authentication from old Exchange 2003 server.
I'm not sure what's going on. During reboots, Outlook 2007 always asks for credentials. I migrated to 2007 last year sometime and this only seems to happen on new Windows 7 machines. I open oulook 2007 (exchange.ourcompany.local) and it asks for username
and password from our old server (mail.ourcompany.local). I removed that server about a year ago and today found some old PTR glue records in our DNS and removed those as well. I think I got rid of this for my PC, but it seems a couple of our users still get
this prompt. Is there something else I may be missing? I also closed Outlook 2007 and did an ipconfig /flushdns which i thought helped me, but it didn't help these other guys. Thanks...

Have you also migrated PF from legacy to exchange 2007 server, Check DB of exchange 2007 and see which server they are poiting for PF.
Can you also re-configure one outlook profile on windows 7 machine and check status.Anil

Pretty sure I migrated the Public Folders DB. It shows its on the Second Storage Group on the Exchange 2007 server. Properties show it on the local drive. So, it doesn't appear to point anywhere else. When you say re-configure one outlook profile, what
specifically should I change?

Hi,
When did the prompt UI appear? Open Outlook or after that? Could you run Outlook normally after inputting the password? Would the prompt UI come up again?
Please press Ctrl+right click the Outlook icon in the System Tray, select Connection Stauts, verify the connection is right.
Thanks

The prompt typically comes up after a reboot, the prompt appears when opening Outlook 2007. The reference is to our old mail server. I removed some glue records from DNS and did ipconfig /flushdns on my machine which seems to have helped for me. But for
everyone else, it appears to still be an issue. Nothing on Exchange 2007 is referencing the old mail server and Public Folders are pointing to second storage group (no reference to old mail server can be found). Thanks.
