Exchange 2007 and IMAP
HelloDoes anyone know whether in an Exchange 2007 Server environment, IMAP folder subscription data is retained by the mailbox? I did not think it was and would still like some kind of definitive proof, but when I setup a profile on another PC using Thunderbird I can see the folders I subscribed to on my original work PC.In which case, problems with folder subscriptions can in fact be related to a "mailbox" issue?Does anyone have insight into this mechanism?

Hello, The answer is YES. But only to a certain extent. There is a property on each mailbox that holds the list of subscribed folder but it can handle only 32k of data. The number of folders to which the client can subscribe to depends on the sum of the length of the folder names. This has been changed in Exchange 2010 by the creation of a new property called "ImapSubscribeLargeList".Hope it helps,Mihai

That sounds very promising Mihai. Do you know if there is a powershell attribute for the mailbox that indicates the size of this "subscribed folders" cache?I'll search anyway but if you know it would be very handy.Tom
