Exchange 2007 and Bounce Back Messages....
I have recently move my mail environment from Lotus Domino to Exchange 2007 and I am having a problem. I have a distribution list setup and this distribution list send out lots of emails every day to our customers. What is supposed to happen is if a message is undeliverable the distribution list is supposed to get the bounce back message and call the customer and update their information, however no bounce back messages are being delivered to the distribution list. I have check and converted the group to a Universal Group and I am still not having any luck. Anyone have any ideas?Thanks,whit3fir3

Check on the properties of the distribution list in the Exchange Management Console, I think this will be on the Advanced property page or the Mail Flow Settings property page of the group. There should be a couple of options similar to this:
Send Delivery Reports to Group Owner
Send Delivery Reports To Message Originator
Do Not Send Delivery Reports
See which one is selected. You probably want the delivery reports to go to the group owner (provided you have specified one on the Managed By property page.)

Hi,
Have a look at the distibution group via the EMC and check the advanced tab. You can specify to who the NDR is delivered. This is standard to the originator maybe you should change this in manager of the distibution group.

If I do that then just the manager of the group gets the email. The idea here (as weird as it sounds) is I need the bounce back to go to the entire group. I have also tried making the group its own manager and then having the emails forwards to the manager and then the messages just dies due to circular loop. Could this be caused by some kind of anti-backscatter spam rules that Exchange 2007 has built into it?Thanks,whit3fir3

I don't think this is possible to have an NDR sent to the entire group that was the result of a message sent to the group. Not only would that send a lot of unnecessary responses, it would probably generate an endless loop of e-mails and rip open a hole in the time-space continum.
