Exchange 2007 and BIND DNS
First the background. Windows 2003 Active Directory (Domin and Forest functional level is Windows 2003.) BIND DNS server running on a SUN box (I beleive it is the most recient version of bind available.) New installation of Exchange 2007 (We are moving from SendMail on the SUN box to Exchange 2007) Active Directory is working fine and has been since installed 3 years ago. The SRV records and other DNS entries for the AD servers are present in DNS and appear to be formatted correctly. We do get NetLogin errors when the AD servers try to update their A records in DNS. This is happening because the AD servers are blocked from changing their host records but they can update their SRV records. Now on to the problem. After installing Exchange 2007 we noticed that every 10 to 15 minutes we get the followingwarning on the Mailbox server... Process STORE.EXE (PID=4884). Exchange Active Directory Provider failed to obtain DNS records for forest DC=test,DC=com. DNS Priority and Weight for the Global Catalog servers in this forest will be set to the default values 0 (priority) and 100 (weight). This warning is then followed witha similarwarmingsaying that the domain DNS records can not be found. Even though it appears like the Exchange server can not locate the forest and the domain it seems like Exchange is working fine. Has anyone else expereinced this issue with BIND and Exchange 2007? Is there anything that we could do to correct the problem other than moving to aWindows DNS Server? Thanks Joe
