Exchange 2007 Transport Rule Does not work at all.. Outbound footer Disclaimer
Hi Everyone
I have added a Transport Rule in Exchange 2007 under the Org Unit- Hub Transport- Transport Rules
Created a rule for a General Disclaimer that is attached to any email going outside the company with the following
Conditions:
From users Inside the Organization sent to user outside the organization
Actions:
append Disclaimer text using font. size.......
Exceptions:
None
This should be a simple thing to do, yet on any email any user sends out to the world, nothing shows up in the footer
Can Someone please help?
Thanks

I followed that document when I set this up.....No dice. This is just a Stand Alone Exchange 2007 install. Everything on one box.

Hi,
These are some limitation to this rule :
Limitations
The text that can be used in a disclaimer from transport rules is somewhat limited in style. No RTF formatting other than font family, font size, font color. While a URL may get converted to a link, no fancy formatted hyper linking,
fancy HTML code, and no Active Directory fields such as user names, titles, etc., can be used. In a nutshell, transport rules can’t really be used to create a global, consistent email signature for outbound email. It’s best to stick just to disclaimers
and advertising.
Also have a look into this article it explain it all : http://www.petri.co.il/transport-rules-adding-a-disclaimer.htm

Are there any other transport rules defined?
Once the rule is defined what does the configuration summary page look like?TBrennan

I had this problem. The rule simply did not work.
But it started to work after exchange server reboot. From now I can freely modify that one and modifications go live instantly. But upon its first creation I had to reboot the server.
