Hello Exchange 2007 can be supported on Windows 2008 / R2 or Not ??? Regards, Amjuu .. Simple answer is no. It is not supported to install Exchange 2007 on win 2008 R2. MS has planned to support win 2008 R2 with exchange 2007 SP3, which is to be released by the mid of this year, but i dont know exact date. Here is a similar post: Windows Server 2008 R2 / Exchange Server 2007 SP2 Regards, Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

Hi, But Windows 2008 R2 Domain can Support If the Exchange Server 2007 SP1 already on Windows 2003 ??? Right ? Because we have already deployed 3 Windows 2008 AD DS into Windows 2003 Domain and planning to decommission all Windows 2003 DCs, so that our domain can be only purely Windows 2008. And we will continue Exchange 2007 SP1 as usual on Windows 2003 R2 into windows 2008 domain. Please clarify ... Thanks.Regards, Amjuu ..

Yes Windows 2008 R2 DCs will be supported with exchange 2007 SP1 Update Rollup 9 on win 2003 or other supported OS Editions, but not with any exchange 2007 with an older exchange build. You will need exchange 2007 SP1 Update Rollup 9 to support win 2008 R2 DCs. Plz goto the link in my last link, it clearly mentions it on point 4 Support for Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Controllers in the environment (Note: Exchange Server 2007 itself is not supported to be installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 system). Running Exchange 2007 in a Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory environment is supported but Exchange 2007 running on a Windows 2008 R2 Server is not supported. Please take a look at the supportability matrix: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee338574(EXCHG.80).aspx http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/11/30/453327.aspx Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
