Exchange 2007 Send and Receive Limits Same or Different values
We are trying to set send and receive limits on our Exchange server. We have all of our receive connectors set to 30MB. We do not have any user, public folder or distribution group limits set. Under Global Configs > Hub Transport > Global
Settings > Transport setting we set Maximum Receive limit at 25mb ans Maximum Send limit at 10mb. We noticed that no one could receive any email larger than 10 mb. We then set both receive and send to 25mb and email up to 25mb came through. My
question is, do both send and receive have to be set at the same value? We would like to set the max send at 10mb and max receive at 25mb.

For a user to send a message, someone has to receive it. The only way that you can have different limits is for external email, where you can set them on the Connectors.

The logic is actually a little weired.
I.e if a external user send an email to a internal users, Exchange actually evaluates the message using the send connector. You would think, it uses the receive right, but nope.
You will have to set them the same
