Exchange 2007 Send Connector
I'm upgrading from Exchange 2003 to 2007. I have moved all of my mailboxes to 2007, and configured 2007 to receive Internet email. Can I use the send connector already configured on my 2007 server by removing the Exchange 2003 server from the Source Server tab? Do I need to delete the current Send Connector and create a new Internet Send Connector? Your help is appreciated.PDC

Hi I would delete the old one from System Manager and create a new one from EMC with the appropriate settings :) Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration | MCITP: EMA | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

I took your advice and deleted the old one from System Manager, and the old one remained on the Exchange 2007 server. It won't allow me to delete it from EMC. I get the message" Error: The operation could not be performed because object 'PDCLab could not be found on domain controller 'ACSERVER.pdcarea.lcl'. PDC

The old send connector has disappeared, now. I configured a new send connector for the Internet using the Address Space "SMTP * 1", Network of "Use domain name system (DNS), and a Source Server of the Exchange 2007 server name. When I send an email to an Internet email account I don't get an error, but the message is never received. My old send connector is still functional, but I have set the Cost to 10.PDC

Sorry, i forgot to tell you that it sometimes takes some time for the connector to disappear from the exchange 2007 server You're not using any smarthost? Then DNS should be selected Doesn't work? What error do you got? Check the queue viewer ..Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration | MCITP: EMA | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

I was able to get my Internet send connector working. I need to configure a send connector to the Exchange server at our laboratory. I created a send connector but emails are not being sent to the lab email server, they are being queued for delivery. I have attempted to use the private IP address and the Internet email IP address and FQDN, but the emails are just queued. PDC

Hi Bob, What’s the last error of the queue? If you use telnet to connector to your lab directly and try to send an email, can the mail be received? Please also run command: get-sendconnector –id <send connector name> |fl and paste the result here. Thanks, Elvis
