Exchange 2007 SP3 x64 error
Hi, I'm installing Exchange 2007 SP3 (x64) on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine in the domain. I tried taking both Standard & Enterprise edition for Windows 2008 R2. My VMs are hosted on vmware. I see that steps 1 through 4 are greyed out since the pre-reqs are installed. When I click "step 5: Install Exchange Server 2007 SP3", I get following error: ExSetupUI.exe has stopped working Description: Stopped working Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: ExSetupUI.exe Application Version: 8.3.83.0 Application Timestamp: 4be1ee5d Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Fault Module Timestamp: 4a5bdfe0 Exception Code: e0434f4d Exception Offset: 000000000000aa7d OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.274.10 Locale ID: 1033 Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt Once I close this, I get another dialog box named Setup.exe with the following error: Exchange server setup encountered an error Help will be appreciated. HI Harish, As this is cloned from other Guest, So i will suggest you to change SID of this OS and then install Exchange 2007 SP3. I am sure your installation will go smooth if you do on fresh install OS If you want to change the SID on a Windows 2008 computer, you need to run Sysprep command. By default, which is located in c:\windows\system32\sysprep folder Anil

Hi, Do you have any anti-virus software installed on the server? If so, please remove it and then install SP3 once again. Disabling it is not enough. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Thanks

The issue was with the downloaded dump from Microsoft website - even though it was completely extractable. Strange... we did download 2times from different places/ISPs. Well, a different dump now works. & there is a size difference of 0.02 GB - so it was a Microsoft dump problem in the available Microsoft download site for sure...Harry
