Exchange 2007 SP3 and verifying Schema Update
I ran both setup /PrepareAD and setup /pad, however when I look at the schema version it is still showing 14622 and not 14625. Is this normal behavior? I do have a root domain with 2 child domains. We are also currently in a mixed mode environment with both Exchange 2003 and 2007 servers present in our environment. I performed a DS query like mentioned on a few websites I found, but when I did this it came back with the version being 14622. I was, however, able to install SP3 on an admin machine of mine and the install went fine. When I performed the schema updates both completed successfully. We don't have any exchange servers in our root domain, and I performed the schema updates on the schema master which is in our root domain. Thus far everything seems normal, I just wish Microsoft would've included a little more info on verifying the schema changes and how to go about doing that.

Has replication completed through out the forest? If you check the Schema version on the Schema Master with ADSIEdit what number is it showing? Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:EMA 2K7,EDA Win 7,ES,SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

When I run a DSQuery it says 14622. When I try and use ADSIedit to look, the value says "Not Set." I waited an hour after running the setup /PrepareAD command.

Chaz, does the information here shed any light: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607233(EXCHG.80).aspx (given you have a mixed mode environment, did you note the "/PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions" stuff?)

The /PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions was already run when I started our Exchange 2007 migration. Plus I only ran setup /PrepareAD this time around.

Hi Chaz4031, You can follow this KB to find Exchange schema version: Using "ADSIEdit.msc " : Navigate to: "CN=ms-Exch-Schema-Version-Pt,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=local" and review the current "rangeUpper" attribute.
