Exchange 2007 SP3 Public Folder Age Limits Not Working
We're using Exchange 2007 SP3 and at some point we lost the age limits on our public folders. I reset some manually but they don't seem to be working. We don't use replicas so it's only set on each public folder in one store. Public Folder online maintenance completes successfully but the old emails are still there. I saw this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969230 but as we have SP3 it doesn't seem to apply. I'm also not sure how to check the attributes specified in this article. I've checked the mofied date on the emails and they also seem fine so not sure what else it could be?

We do run Online Defragmentation and this does complete successfully (about once a week). I've checked and I don't think we've configured any other type of maintenance.

Is Maintenance runs automatically so I would increase diags for it under the IS for the public folder on that server and see if what shows the next morning.

I've set the 9001 Public\Background Cleanup logging level to Expert - is this sufficient? Does this require a restart to apply?

No restart is required. That should hopefully tell you something!

Many thanks. I suspect it will take a couple of days to complete a full run.

I'm afraid we're still having this issue. Are there any other suggestions? Many thanks.
