Exchange 2007 SP2 schema update
We are currently running Exchange 2007 Sp1. I understand that before we can install SP2 on our Exchange servers, we need to apply a schema update. I've read around and although a lot of sites mention that the schema update is necessary, they don't actually go into what is updated/changed? And how does this differ from the Exchange 2007 initial schema update we had to do?And - also - does the SP2 update mean that there won't be an update necessary for 2010? Does anyone have any details?

Most important changes for Exchange 2007 SP2 are the capabilities of managing some objects on the Organization level rather than the server level. For a complete reference on the new features, check the following link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee221150(EXCHG.80).aspx Exchange 2007 SP2 is needed for coexistence with Exchange 2010. When you extend the schema, the Exchange 2010 schema changes will be deployed in your environment, though you won't need to extend the schema you install Exchange 2010. Hope that the above info, helps. Elie B. MCITP: EMEA|EA|SA; MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration; Blog: http://blog.elieb.info
