Install of Exchange 2007 SP2 fails with following error snipped form the end of setup logfile: It is Server 2008 R@ 64bit, a search of the registry for the prodcuct code causing the error points me to SP1 rollup 5. Why are you installing Exchange 2007 SP2? SP3 is the latest version which is what you should be installing. Looks to me like a bad download. I would suggest that you download the service pack fresh from the Microsoft Public site and install from that. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

I was installing SP2 because SP3 also failed, so I was attempting to step up to 2 then hopefully 3 when that was complete. I have downloaded the service pack twice already, with the same result. Should I scrap 2 altogether and just troubleshoot the errors I'm getting installing 3?

I wouldn't consider going backwards in versions. Was Service Pack 3 erroring in an identical way? If you are on Exchange 2007 SP1 with Windows 2008 R2 you are in an unsupported scenario anyway, as I believe SP2 was the first version that is supported with Windows 2008 R2. Since 5c321 doesn't appear anywhere in the log above how did you come up with that? I don't see anything about a rollup file in the log above, only a GUID. How am I suppose to translate this guid into a rollup file? Where do I find this rollup file? Can you be more helpful?
