Exchange 2007 SP2 OWA Public/Private Session Timeouts
Hello. I can't seem to get OWA to abide by the timeout values I have set. I've tried changing the settings at the following with no success: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124787%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124819%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx The client still automatically logs out after about 15 minutes of inactivity with the "Private Computer" option selected upon login. Is there another session timeout value I need to change as well? Our current settings are 15 minutes for public and 480 for private.

Check this article out, it will give you the reg key to configure and the powershell command to configure it. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.05.exchangeqa.aspx Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi Scott, Thank you for your response. I have already tried those registry settings (they're the same as the two from my original post). The issue is that they are not being applied correctly as the client still logs out.

Is your Exchange Front end being served through something like ISA or TMG?Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. No. The 2 CAS servers are just an NLB setup with standard IIS.

And the user is selecting private computer, rather than the default of public? Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Yes. We're selecting private computer which is set for 480 minutes. If I leave my browser open and walk away for about 15 minutes, I return to a login screen. It seems as though the OWA client is not abiding by the setting.

Yes we reset IIS after applying. We followed everything to the letter from the technet documents.

try hitting each one individually to see if the problem is with one, both, or somewhere else. Https://exchangeserver/exchange I am starting to run out of ideas as to the problem, i have used the reg key many times at other clients without issue. Here's another question when your user comes into OWA are they passing through a firewall at all that might have a SSL timeout set? The only firewall in play is the windows firewall on the CASs. Are there any IIS timeouts that would effect this? Also, can you please elaborate on "hitting each one individually." Thank you for your time.
