Exchange 2007 SP1 install - starting microsoft edge transport service failed
Hello I am running w2008 sp1 server and need to install Exchange 2007. I have done the pre installation prep and now when installing exchange, when installing hub transport role, the installation tries to start microsoft edge transport service, but not fails at this step. The error is : "MSExchangeTransport failed to reach status Running on this server". As I look into the event log, I find that this error occured a few times during installation - Topology discovery failed, error 0x80040a02 (DSC_E_NO_SUITABLE_CDC). The server is domain controller as well. Could anyone please help me with this. thank you Jakub

I think you need to be in Exchange SP3 to be able to install Exchange on Server 2008.

Hi, Did you disable IPv6 on the server? I have seen this issue before on a server where IPv6 was disabled, simply reenable it and reboot solved the problem. Let us know how it goes so the solution can benifit others :) /Martin
