Exchange 2007 SP1 - single domain - Global groups
hello , we are running exchange 2007 sp1 RU 5, in a single wondows 2003 domain, I know that exchange 2007 dont want us to create mail enabled global groups due to multi domain global catalouge issue, but why I cannot create mail enabled global groups in single domain ? is there any other reason for that?thanks.

No, there is no other reason. In a forest whichis made upof a single domain, you would be fine with either domain local or global groups. But as soon as you extend this forest to comprise more than one domain, you'll have problems with anything else than universal distribution groups. With privious versions of Exchange, you could use global groups (and the issues would soon pop up). If you co-exist with or upgrade from a Exchange 2000/2003 orgainization, you can still use but not easily administer global distribution groups.jas

In Exchange2007, you can create or mail-enable only universal distribution groups. You may have mail-enabled groups that were migrated from previous versions of Exchangethat are not universal groups. Hi,I know you want, but exchange 2007 can only mail enable the universal groups, by design. If you still want to use mail-enabled global group, you have to changetheuniversal group tothe globle one manually. You can find more information,http://www.pro-exchange.eu/modules.php?name=News&file=print&sid=299Frank Wang
