Exchange 2007 SP1: New-EdgeSubscription : When running this task inside the organization, the site parameter is required
Hi all,I am trying to install & configure Edge Subscription. To create the xml file, when I put the command in Exchange Shell, it is giving me the following error message:New-EdgeSubscription : When running this task inside the organization, the site parameter is required. At line:1 char:20 + New-EdgeSubscription I have done google. Also Technet. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/5624b2cd-4a4e-44fc-a249-97b3676f98bb/http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdeploy/thread/5c46b74e-f4c9-45f9-b906-b0cdcb6ba46dBut none of them seems a solution. Some people mentioned, uninstall and install back total exchange server solved their problem. http://forums.msexchange.org/m_1800466552/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#1800490141But for a organization where I have already done lots of configuration, its really should not be a solution. Would anyone please let me know if there is a real solution. Thanks, Monir

Hi, We suspect that the Physical FQDN of the Edge server does not match the same Edge servers object's networkaddress attribute in AD/ADAM. We can Get-Exchangeserver to check the servername against to the physical FQDN of the Edge Server. Also please try to use ADSIedit.msc to check the value on networkaddress attribution for Edge Server Note: The location from Adsiedit.msc should be CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=COM->CN=Services->CN=Microsoft Exchange->CN=ORG->CN=Administrative Groups->CN=Exchange Administrative Group->CN=Server->CN=servername Regards, Xiu

Note: The location from Adsiedit.msc should be CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=COM->CN=Services->CN=Microsoft Exchange->CN=ORG->CN=Administrative Groups-> CN=Exchange Administrative Group->CN=Server->CN=servername Hi Xiu,Thanks for your reply. I could not find the information you have mentioned in ADSIedit.msc (I am new to this tools). I am installing Edge Subscription in same server box where Exchange is installed. I know its a security risk but I would like to have it ina single server. I am installing it in windows server 2008 64bit.Get-ExchangeServer: ABC07FQDN:ABC07.xxx.comIpconfig/all returns: Host Name:ABC07Primary Dns Suffix: xxx.comIt seems Edge server name and FQDN are same. Any idea please help. Thanks,Monir
