Exchange 2007 Rejections
My problem: When I go to sites and request to have them send me a temporary password to log in, they send the email as if it is coming from me to me and they get rejected. #5.7.1 smtp;550 5.7.1 Message Rejected.> #SMTP# How do I fix this? Happens with many sites that we also upload information to.

What is your topology? What are you external SMTP interfaces? Exchange servers or another SMTP type of server? 5.7.1 means unable to relay so a misconfiguration of some sort could cause this but its alot easier to figure out once I know how your environment is setup.Sr. Exchange Engineer - Constellation Energy

Hi Jason, Firstly, please check whether I understand the problem correctly. If I am off base, please let me know. When somebody attempts to send email to you as if the message is coming from you, the message is rejected. At this time, please let me know: 1. Whether the sender is an internal user or an external sender? 2. If the sender is an internal user, which method he uses to submit the message: Outlook (POP3/SMTP profile) or Outlook (Exchange Mode profile) 3. If the sender does not send as you, whether the message can be delivered to you correctly? 4. Whether only one Hub Transport server exists in the organization. Mike
