Exchange 2007 Message tracking
Hi Everyone, I am looking to track email to and from our Exchange 2007 SP2 CCR cluster. When I try and track a message from our cluster I can only search for email being sent from internal users. I can't search for email coming into the mailboxes from external email addresses i.e. The recipients column is blank and the senders column only shown email from users within our organization. This makes it impossible to prove that an email from outside our organization was delivered to a users mailbox. Is this the usual behaviour or have I missed a setting? Any help / guidance would be appreciated Thanks john

What happens if you do the message tracking from the Hub Transport server - presuming you have it enabled there. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP. http://blog.sembee.co.uk , http://exbpa.com/

Yes, please make sure that you select Hub server in the "Server" column instead of CMS, as delivery event isn't recorded to the MBX server role. By default, message tracking log is enabled on all exchange 2007 serversJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Hi Guys, Thanks for the respones. On the HUB server the sending and recieving addresses are populated ok so I can see the email of interest onthere ok. Its only on the CMS server. When tracking a messge on the mailbox cluter I select to show all events and only enter the sender email address. Lokos like this is teh correct behaviour from teh comments above. How do I track incoming email from an external address on the mailbox cluster? Thanks John
