All are Exchange 2007 SP2. Need to Achieve: Move all the mailboxes from Site A to Site B and decommission all the servers in Site B. Till Now: 1. Moved Pilot users from Site A to B and incredibly it took 5 hrs to move 1 GB mailbox. Looking for: Any suggestion how to stream line the move mailbox process? Hi Any suggestion how to stream line the move mailbox process? You can move mailbox by exchange ems command to achieve your aim. You can read two links about it. http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/moving-mailboxes-exchange-2007-part2.html http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997961(EXCHG.80).aspx If I install Exchange CAS only on both the sites will I be able to move mailbox Online? No . It is the new function of exchange 2010 . In an online mailbox move, end users can still access their e-mail accounts during the move. The user is only locked out of the account for a brief time at the end of the process (when the final synchronization occurs). Online mailbox moves are supported between Exchange 2010 databases and between Exchange 2007 SP2 and Exchange 2010 databases. You can perform online mailbox moves across forests or in the same forest. You can read this link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd298174.aspx#Online
