Exchange 2007 Management Tools Won't install on Windows XP SP3
Installed new workstation with Windows XP w/ SP2, then updated to SP3 via Windows Update. When I try to install the Exchange 2007 SP1Management tools, the Exchange 2007 SP1 Setup comes back with the following error. Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:00:06 Management Tools PrerequisitesFailed Error:This computer requires the update described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 931836 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=92858). Without this update you might encounter incorrect time zone information.Recommended Action: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=30939&l=en&v=ExBPA.3&id=2dbcc670-d1e5-40d9-9ad4-80bd40464ece Elapsed Time: 00:00:06 The prerequisite is the February 2007 Time Zone update. I can't install the time zone update since it is included in SP3. Is there an update to the SP1 installer or a work around to this issue?

I had this exact issue installing Exchange 2007 SP1 x86 Management tools to a Windows 2003 Std R2 SP2 machine. In my situation I had the latest DST update already installed on the server at that time - December 08 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955839In the end after trying a few things I was able to get the tools installed by installing the RTM verion first, applying Rollup 7 then SP1 Management Tools installed. A major pain but I now have the tools on my backup server.Hope this helps any one else with this issue.
