Exchange 2007 Mailbox Role on domain Controller?
Hello All, I am currently installing 2007 in a high availability single store cluster. Because my company does not have a huge budget to buy hardware needed I have come up with an idea I would like to run by people that might know what they are talking about. Do any of you see a reason why I cannot install active / passive Mailbox Roles on 2 domain controllers if the hub transport and client access are on different servers? We have pretty beefy Domain controllers that are just sitting there and I would like to utilize them for this project if I can. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Are you domain controllers installed as windows enterprise 64 bit editions? They must be in order to be part of a cluster. This is not a recommended installation since it makes disaster recovery more complex and the dc and mb role will compete for resources. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=281662 Leif
