Exchange 2007 Mailbox Database Maintenance Log
Other than for Message Records Management, does Exchange keep a log of the actitions it takes during regular mailbox maintenance when it cleans out the deleted items dumpster? With Exchange 2003 you could have it email a report of this information, but I can't figure out how to get this information from Exchange 2007. I have the LogPathForManagedFolders set along with other settings to keep those logs in check, but I don't see that it tells me how many messages were deleted from the normal deleted items dumpster cleanup.

Exchange 2003 didn't report on items that reached their expiry date inthe dumpster.E2K7 simply doesn't send an email as Exchange 2003 did. It's just notthere.ManagedFolders set along with other settings to keep those logs in check, but I don't see that it tells me how many messages were deleted from the normal deleted items dumpster cleanup. I don't have a log file handy to look at, but doesn't the MRM log tellyou about each message it acted on?---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP--- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

MRM reporting feature has been removed from EX2007. You can enable the Diagonostic Logging and see what is going on with the mailboxes. See below for more How to Configure Messaging Records Management Logging Exchange Server 2007: How many logs hath thee? Look in the point no 8 in the above URL.Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|
