Exchange 2007 Mail flow Local Delivery
How the local delivery happens in Exchange 2007. Whenever mail is sent from outlook to a friend sitting in near. How the mail flow occurs, What are the files included in this. I know the logical structure how the internal mail flow happens,like MSExchangeMailSubmission.exe is responsible to send mail from Mailbox to HubTransport. If the HUB CAS server is in NLB how it will point to the correct server. I have googled a lot, only logical structure is given . Where can I find the mail flow in depth. Pls let me know how the internal mail flow works and what are the files included in the process. <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:roman; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-536870145 1107305727 0 0 415 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-unhide:no; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:Arial; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi; mso-ansi-language:EN-GB;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; mso-default-props:yes; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family:Arial; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi; mso-ansi-language:EN-GB;} @page WordSection1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.WordSection1 {page:WordSection1;} -->

Hi, Exchange 2007 local mail flow: 1. User submit a message from outlook to exchange mailbox server. 1. Store driver that in Hub transport server pick up the message from mailbox server and then place it in Submission queue. The store driver is a component of Exchange transport service (MSExchangeTransport.exe) 2. Categoriser pick up the message from Submission queue and perform Recipient resolution, then routing. If the message is sent to the internal recipients, it will be route to local deliver queue. 3. Message is picked up from a delivery queue by the Store driver and put in the sender’s inbox on a Mailbox server.
