Exchange 2007 ListServ or custom DL code
Hello: Does Microsoft offer LISTSERV capabilities on Exchange 2007 ? If not, how can I write a server-side script that upon receiving an email with subscribe in the subject would add that email to a Distribution list (DL) and remove with an UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject field. (sure wish MS would provide that very useful script natively in Exchange...) ThanksGADOI

There are add-ons for Exchange 2007 that offer this capability: http://www.ikakura.com/ Note that Exchange 2010 now offers a moderated email function: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/06/10/451584.aspx

While you could get Exchange to do it, my preference would still be a third party tool that is designed to do it. Something that can provide the double opt in, manage bounces and unsubscribe requests etc. As each recipient would have to be an object in the AD (a contact) it would quickly clog up up your AD directory with content that most people don't care about. A separate application would store it in a database separate from Exchange. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources
