Exchange 2007 Licencing multiple roles for on Domain
Hi everybody, I've always been confused when it comes to licensing. How many licenses do I need if I want to rise exchange server with all roles on him and if I want to establish the "edge" as support. (two phisical machines, one Domen to serve) Also, how many licences I need if I want to install roles on several servers, for same exchange domain. (Mailbox on one, transport on other and possibly some kind of ,SCR. CCR between.) Thanks Thanks

You will need an Exchange Server license for every server running Exchange, it does not matter what or how many roles you have installed on that individual server. Exchange Server license comes in two flavors: Standard and Enterprise. You will also need user CAL licenses. Again, those come in two flavors. Server licenses and user CALs are completely separate (e.g. you can run Standard Server and use Enterprise User CALs).
