Exchange 2007 Free Busy Time
Hi GuysI recently had a problem with the Exchange certificates on the network at a new company I have begun work for.I managed to fix both the free busy time and outlook 2007 certificate popup errors which they were getting. The external company that was administering the Server before I arrived had generated the certificate with the wrong name once the original cert had expired. After renewing the original Cert and replacing the incorrectly named cert on the ISS directories it resolved the issue. However we run two Exchange servers over private IP. One has client access the other does not.The client access server is on a different subnet to that of the Exchange server with out the Client Access role. The users on the same subnet as the Exchange server with the client access role are able to use Free Busy Time, Out of Office and etc.The users with the mailboxes on the other Exchnage server are unable to access free busy and out of officeI will add that autodiscovery is working fine on both servers and the auto discovery url points to the server with the Client Access role on itAny advice would be helpful

Can you give bit more info about environment? You said two Exchange servers in different subnet, are they in same AD site? What are Exchange Server roles installed on both of the server?Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Exchange Server 1 has 192.168.1.xx-Mailbox-Client Access-Hub Transport- Unified MessagingExchange Server 2 has 192.168.17.xx-Mailbox-Hub TransportWhile both offices are pyhsically apart they use the same DC's, AD Structure and Etcover the private IP Network. The reason the Exchange servers are seperated are Bandwidth issues. Which is why there is anExchangeServer at either end to host user mailboxesSo in Answer to your question I beleive they use the same AD site

Can you verify this in AD Sites and Services? If you have two AD sites, you need to have CAS server at location 2.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Hi Talmier, 1. Please run following command to check whether the two Exchagne Servers belongs one AD site: get-exchangeserver |fl name, site 2. Please let me know whether all the clients use Outlook 2007. It is because Outlook 2007 retrieve Free/Busy status through Availability Service while the earlier Outlook client retrieve Free/Busy through Public Folder 3. If all the clients use Outlook 2007, please check whether the Outlook (in no CAS subnet) is able to connect to Autodiscover service to retrieve the correct Availability Service URL: 1). On the problem Outlook client, launch Outlook 2). Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click the Outlook icon in the notification area of the Windows taskbar, also known as the notification area. 3). In the menu that appears, click Test E-mail AutoConfiguration. 4). Enter your E-mail Address and Password (if not logged into the domain) in the respective edit boxes. 5). Choose the desired auto configuration methods with Use Autodiscover, clear other selection. 6). Click Test. Please check whether the Outlook client is able to connect to Autodiscover service to obtain Availability service URL correctly. If the Outlook is not able to connect to Autodiscover service to obtain Availability service URL, please check the log tab for more information 4. If the Outlook client is able to retrieve the Availability Service URL correctly, please check whether we are able to resolve the Availability Service URL to correct IP address. Mike
