Exchange 2007 Event 680 0xC0000064 filling up security logs.
Greetings,
I constantly get thousands of event id 680's on my Exchange 2007 server running all the roles except edge.
0xC0000064 is User name does not exist, but these are valid users.
Here's a copy of the event.
Logon attempt by: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
Logon account: User
Source Workstation: exchange server
Error Code: 0xC0000064
I suspect it may have to do with the authentication type?
Anyone familiar with this in Exchange 2007?
Thanks.

Do you have a BES server? How is the BES configured?
How is Exchange configured? i.e. single server

Is the BES service account a member of Exchange Org Admin group? If not, add the account in the group else remove it from the group and allow AD to update and then readd the account back into the group again.

Well done Frank!
That was the fix. I did not have the bes admin membership in the Exchange Org Admin group.
I tip my hat to you sir. :DGold is for the mistress -- silver for the maid -- Copper for the craftsman cunning at his trade. "Good!" said the Baron, sitting in his hall, "But Iron -- Cold Iron -- is master of them all."
