Exchange 2007 Domain vs Domain Alias
Ok here is my situation, I have windows server 2008 r2 with exchange 2007 running. I have a domain of "frabrikamonline.com". I own another domain which is just "fabrikam.com". Now when i built the domain and domain controller, I only have access to frabrikamonline.com so that is the FQDN of the domain. However I would like to be able to send and receive emails to both domains. I want just frabrikam.com to be my authoritive domain to send/receive on, while leaving the domain as frabrikamonline.com any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi , So you mean that you want to send emails from @fabrikam.com but your AD is fabrikamonline.com so its very easy you can add a second smtp address in users email address list and make the second email address the default address so when your user will send email it will go from @fabrikam.com not from fabrikamonline.com. I hope this will work for you. I M also using this method somewhere on my client site. Regards. Shafaquat AliM.C.I.T.P Exchange 2007/2010, M.C.I.T.P Windows Server 2008, M.C.T.S OCS Server 2007 R2

Hi This is a normal solution, just create the accepted domains and emailaddresspolicys, then it should be ok. Don't forget the MX records etc..Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Chris, First explain your question in little more depth, do you want to use both domain for a single users or both domains users are different? if it is different then create accepted domain and it is done. Thanks Amit Rawat
