Exchange 2007 Distribution List
Looking for a best solution for the following: Currently my organization has an "ALL Staff" email Distribution List but not all users can send messages to this DL (permissions we set). If a user needs to send an announcement to ALL employees they need to forward that msg to a user with permissions to send to ALL. To add to the inconvenience with this process, ALL replies go to the user that sent the msg and NOT the original user who forwarded the announcement! Is there a better solution to set this up in Exchange 2007? Thanks!

Not if you want to restrict who can send messages to that DL. Note that the sender can set who the replies go to under Delivery Options for a message, so they could set it to the person who forwarded the message.

Milton, Andy is pointing you in the right direction for implementing this in 2007. Unfortunately the functionality that you're looking for is limited there. However, Exchange 2010 includes moderation for DL's that would allow you to implement just what you're looking for. I realize this alone wouldn't be a reason to migrate to Exchange 2010 but I would recommend adding it to your justification for upgrading. Wes
