Exchange 2007 Deployment From an Old AD Evironment to a new AD
Hi there, Being still reasonably Green with E2K7 Server i have a couple of questions for the more E2K7 savy. Earlier this year we implemented Exchange 2007 Enterprise Edition into our Corporate network - as a Clean Exchange Organisation. We are now at the stage where we are planning a new Active Directory - and with this brings concern to me of options in bringing all mailboxes over to a new Domain? What type of options do i have for this type of change -- So the current tasks at hand are the re-creation of all User accounts in the new domain, enforce group pol, install exchange org. as for the current mailbox databases what options do i have? Ashley, you have a couple of options. one of them is that if you are doing a different exchange org, you can do an inter org mailbox move. if you are creating a new forest, there is also the option of exporting the mail and reimporting with exmerge. this takes a little work, but can be done. the recommended solution would be to create a trust between the domain/forests, and do an interorg move of teh users and mailboxes. There are several white papers on the exchange tech center site that detail this solution. try this. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124797.aspx there are a lot of resources at your hands there. Let us know how it goes.
