Exchange 2007 Cross Org Mailbox Migration
Hi Everyone, I've been doing some research on Migrating mailboxes from One forest to another (both Exchange Organisations are running Exchange Server 2007). Heres a basic overview of the scenario: At my organisation (lets call this CompanyA), we share our domain and Exchange Server with a small charity organisation. I inherited the network and servers and as it turns out, the mailboxes for the charity organisation are spread across different mail databases on Exchange (mixed with out internal users mailboxes). The time has come for this small organisation (which has grown to approx 40 people) to move to their own domain. The new domain will include Exchange Server 2007. I would like to move ONLY the users from the charity to this new Exchange Server. I don't want to go off topic here so you can assume that I will have no problems migrating the AD users. When it comes to Exchange what would be the most trouble free way to do this? I'm looking at the Exchange Migration Wizard and I'm wondering if this can meet my needs on a per user/mailbox basis? Thanks in advance, iRockMCSA, CCNA, JNCIA

You can use “cross org” migration scenario. Take a look at this article: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/11/02/430289.aspx For AD migration, you can try ADMT. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=6D710919-1BA5-41CA-B2F3-C11BCB4857AF&displaylang=en Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
