Exchange 2007 Certificate issue
I am trying to import a new certificate into my exchange 2007 server. However, it is NOT allowing me to import. I am getting errors such as, "Invalid file type" (From the MMC), "Cannot read source data or password is incorrect" (from the shell), and "cannot find file" (from IIS management Console). Wherever I try to import the new certificate (which was generated through the shell) it will not go through. While in the shell, the command "Get-exchangecertificate" displays both old and new certs available. I still can not use the import command so i can enable it with services. Any help would be very appreciated.Notes: Running over Microsoft Server 2008, Exchange 2007 (not updated to service pack 1 yet. Am reading through release notes in order to understand the changes.) I have also tried multiple formates of the certificate. .cer, .pfx, .crt. Nothing seems to take.I am thinking the SP will fix it but I am not sure.

Hi,Do you use self-signed certificate or CA one?Suggest you only use cmdlet to import and enable certificate. From the shell: Cannot read source data or password is incorrect" Please read this one: Import-ExchangeCertificate fails with "the source data cannot be imported or the wrong password was specified"http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc535024(EXCHG.80).aspx<!---->More information: Certificate Use in Exchange Server 2007<!----> http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc535024(EXCHG.80).aspxAnd it is alway a good practice to install latest server pack(SP2).Frank Wang

Pre-SP1?? Brave man :-) When you say this is a new certificate, did you generate the request on the server or is it an existing certifcate that you are trying to import into the server?Casper Pieterse, Principle Consultant - UC, Dimension Data South Africa, Microsoft Certified Master: Exchange 2007
