Exchange 2007 Certificate Question
I have a user who would benefit from Outlook Anywhere. The certificate on the Exchanger server doesn't have the FQDN, just the host name only. I am pretty sure that Outlook Anywhere won't like that much without the FQDN. Can I create a secondary cert using the New-ExchangeCertificate cmdlet without removing the original cert? Not sure if I need to replace the first one or if I can just add a second certificate. I am not well verses in IIS / certs. Not sure why the original cert wasn't setup to use the FQDN. I wasn't involved in the original install, so not sure if there might have been some compelling reason for that. TIA.

Exchange 2007 uses a self-signed certificate by default. this uses the fqdn of the domain name, which may not properly resolve to an external user. here is the answer to your question regarding changing the cerfificate while the other is in use: ------------ How To Renew or Create New Certificate Signing Request While Another Certificate Is Currently Installed support.microsoft.com/kb/295281 ------------ If you want to learn more about exchange certificates, read here, its a great article: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/07/02/445698.aspx
