Exchange 2007 Cannot send messages.
Hello I've recently installed Exchange 2007 in an existing Exchange 2003 organization. The install went well and my Exchange 2007 and 2003 servers see each other. With each server appearing in the other's System Manager. Both servers are on domain controllers with the 2007 server holding all of the organization's FSMO roles. Exchange 2007 is running on Windows 2003 R2 and Exchange 2003 is running SP2on Windows 2003 Standard SP1. After the install, I then proceeded to move a few test mailboxes over from the Exchange 2003 server to the 2007 server and I received no issues with that. My problem is that I cannot send ANY mail (internal OR external) from the accounts on the2007 server. I am able to send mail from 2003to the test boxes I have on my 2007 server and those mailboxes receive it. Soall seems well there. I ran the Mail Flow troubleshooter on Exchange 2007 and this error was produced: Result of Test-MapiConnectivity for mailbox database *Storage group name changed*\*Mail store name changed*on server*server name changed*was '*FAILURE*' with Error='[Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ObjectNotFoundException]: Cannot open mailbox . Inner error [Microsoft.Mapi.MapiExceptionNotFound]: MapiExceptionNotFound: Unable to open message store. (hr=0x8004010f, ec=-2147221233) I also see this one error in the event log of the Exchange 2007 server when I mount the store: Source: EXOLEDB Event ID: 116 Microsoft Exchange OLEDB was unable to initialize event system correctly. Support for store event may have been disabled. HRESULT = 0x8004010f. The Exchange 2003 server has no errors of any kind. The event log error obviously points to the absence of a System Mailbox in the 2007 server, I thenmade a new mail store and mounted it on the Ex 2007 server as the related KB article suggested, but without success. I would appreciate any assistance that anyone can give.

Hi, My guess would be that there is a problem with the routing group connector connecting the 2 exchange routing groups. On exchange 2007 see if the queue viewer tells you anything. Leif

Hello. Well, the Queue viewer shows me one available queue named "submission" with a type of "undefined" and a status of "ready." However, when I attempt to send a mail message with one of the boxes I have on 2007, it just sits in the outbox and does nothing. When I do "Send/Receive" in the Outlook program, it appears to contact the server just fine and I get no errors. The message STILL will not leave the outbox though.

I have an update that I want to pass along. There is a warning message that I overlooked which I want to bring to the surface. The source is MSExchange ADAccess and the event ID is 2161. Here is the description:Process edgetransport.exe (PID=7856). Object CN=general,CN=Folder Hierarchies,CN=First Administrative Group,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=*domain name here*,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=*domain suffix*,DC=com read from *Server name*.*suffix*com failed validation. Attribute: PublicFolderTreeType. Error message: The value of property 'PublicFolderTreeType', 0, is not defined in the Enum type 'PublicFolderTreeType'.. Invalid data: 0.I feel like this could be a cause of my mail sending problem since it deals with the Transport service, but I have no idea how to solve it. This server is a Hub transport server BTW. I have all of my send connectors configured correctly so I am not sure what is wrong. This is showing on the 2007 server. The 2003 server still has not reported any errors and continues to send and receive mail just fine.
